What to Expect

Every morning will begin with a nature hike, and a strength/flexibility workshop Presentations throughout the day will include:

  • Team Harmony and Communication

  • Goal Setting, Life Coaching

  • Practice Health, Marketing

  • Customer Service, and Creating an Extraordinary Patient Experience

  • Practice systems for increased efficiency and decreased stress

We formally finish at 6 p.m. on Saturday, so you can head home for Father’s Day the next day!

Ordinary Achieving Extraordinary Ankur A Gupta, DDS

10 a.m.: Dentists-Why goal setting is meaningless for most of us

During this half-hour interactive workshop for Dentists and their spouses, Dr. Gupta provides step-by-step strategies to translate our vague and impersonal hopes and dreams into specific, quantifiable, and actionable plans.

10:30-11:30 a.m.: Operatory ‘Must-Haves’ - clinical tools and techniques that make dentistry easier, more predictable, and more fun

12:30 - 1:30 p.m.: Title: - Lead with Love- Start with Yourself and Work Outward - Alan Stern DDS

This presentation will share pearls that you can use right away in your everyday practice. This presentation is specifically designed for you if you are wanting to create an implementable roadmap to take your practice the next level – whether you are wanting to implement new ser- vices, scale to the next million or bring on more associates to help your practice grow. This presentation is designed to introduce you to the essential strategies of identifying the gaps, empowering and adding accountability to your team, and having a proven roadmap of what to focus on first to get everyone on the same page for ultimate practice growth.

Summary:  An interactive workshop for dentists and teams where we explore what makes communicating with one another challenging in the dental environment and how to overcome these challenges ... together!

10:30 a.m.: “Why did I get a bill? I thought I paid in full” and other awkward conversations mediated by a hostage negotiator - Ankur Gupta, DDS

No matter how incredible your team, processes, and systems may be, dentistry will never be able to avoid uncomfortable situations and potentially angry patients.  Dr Gupta presents concepts from a former FBI hostage negotiator that will defuse and create calm even during the most stressful situations in the office

12:30 p.m.: Burnout, body pain, debt, stress, and diet - Ankur Gupta

The healthcare professions boast high incomes, great hours, and social status, yet a lot of us are burnt out. Why? In this 1-hr emotional presentation, Dr. Gupta shares the Mayo Clinic research behind healthcare burnout, its causes, its ramifications, and, most importantly, how we in the dental profession are going to defeat it.

2:30 p.m.: The Blitz - Making every positive challenge in your office into a game - Ankur Gupta

The big problem with attending a great CE course is that, when we return to the office, our heads are so full of great ideas, that it is hard to actually get them all straight, and properly implement each one.  Instead of leaving the participants of this retreat with the same potential frustration, Dr. Gupta shares the most effective implementation guidelines - making it all a game.

3:30 p.m.: Little Voice - Laura Mach DDS

Using a very personal story from Dr. Laura Mach's past, she teaches what it means to listen to your inner voice, why it’s vitally important, how to do it, and what pitfalls to watch out for.
